Women’s Empowerment:
We are dedicated to supporting women in achieving economic independence by collaborating with them to create sustainable income-generating projects.
In Sarsyung, Rasuwa District, we have established a women’s group to provide skills training and resources tailored to their needs.
One of our initial efforts was a tailoring and sewing course, where we supplied sewing machines, built a small training facility, and arranged for a trainer to teach in the village. Building on this foundation, we are now fundraising to start a goat-rearing initiative. This project will allow women to share the responsibility of caring for goats, enabling them to generate income while managing household and childcare duties.
Children’s Education:
We believe that education is a powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty. Currently, we sponsor 16 children from Rasuwa District to attend two boarding schools in Kathmandu. This sponsorship provides comprehensive support, covering tuition, uniforms, winter clothing, books, extracurricular activities, and room and board.
By offering these children access to quality education, we hope to open doors to opportunities that might otherwise remain out of reach, empowering them to create better futures for themselves and their families.
Other:
Emergency Relief
In times of crisis, we step in to provide much-needed support to vulnerable communities. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we delivered essential supplies such as food rations and oxygen tanks to remote areas of Rasuwa District, ensuring families had the resources they needed to endure the challenges of the pandemic.
While emergency relief is not our primary focus, we remain committed to responding to urgent needs when they arise, mobilizing resources quickly and efficiently to support affected communities.
Cultural Preservation
Preserving Nepal’s rich cultural heritage is an important aspect of our work. We recently supported the creation of The Yakherder: A Langtang Story, a film that showcases the unique way of life of yak herders in the Langtang region. This project highlights the importance of documenting and celebrating local traditions and stories.
By investing in cultural preservation, we aim to honor Nepal’s diverse heritage while fostering a sense of pride and connection within the communities we serve.
